Provisional AGENDA 2022

A word from the President of the AMCT,
          _cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_    Christian Leyrit

For decades, the weakening of social ties, the rise of individualism and violence, mistrust vis-à-vis public officials and the Republican voice have been exacerbated.

Over the past two years, the tsunami of the pandemic has further accentuated the economic and social difficulties, in all our territories. Listening, dialogue, discussion and the search for compromise are becoming more necessary than ever, at all levels, in order to appease society. Furthermore, in increasingly dematerialized and depersonalized societies, where administrations and organizations have to respond to a growing number of requests, it is essential that citizens have access to a remedy to meet their need to be listened to, personal attention and dialogue, especially the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people, for whom access to justice is difficult.

Mediation now stands out as an essential benchmark, and, well beyond, as a real social project that puts people back at the heart of conflict prevention and resolution, in all sectors of citizens' lives. , institutions and organizations.

The Association of Local Authority Mediators (AMCT), which is growing rapidly, now brings together nearly 60 regions, departments, cities or towns (more than 12,500 requests were processed in 2021).

It organizes, with the city of Angers and Destination Angers, the second International Congress of all mediations from October 5 to 7, 2022. After the remarkable success of the 2020 edition (650 participants including 22% from abroad) , our ambition is even greater.

Six plenary sessions, fifteen round tables, two World Cafés will bring together 110 speakers, including 50 foreigners, from a large number of  countries (Canada, Argentina, Brazil, United Kingdom, Belgium, Spain, Lebanon, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Israel, Italy, Cameroon…).

All major topical issues will be addressed: the climate crisis, international conflicts, issues of education, health, violence against women, corporate relations, consumption, and many others…. , including post-terrorism restorative justice.

I warmly thank all the national and local players and the many organizations that have mobilized to make this Congress an exceptional and unique event.

I invite you all to come and enrich our debates by joining us   in Angers from October 5th to 7th...
